Welcome to BEATS 2010

The broad multidisciplinary research areas of Biomedical Engineering and Assistive Technologies contain some of the most challenging problems at the frontier of modern scientific research.

They bring together researchers from many different disciplines in a shared, problem-centered approach, health care delivery, but seeking solutions using technologies, skills, and intellectual creativity from outside the traditional boundaries of biology, medicine and engineering.

Biomedical engineering has emerged as a major interdisciplinary research thrust at NIT Jalandhar. This conference is aimed to provide the participants state-of-art knowledge on the Biomedical Engineering and on other emerging areas related to Instrumentation & Control, Computer, Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

We welcome you to share this excitement through your active participation and contribution in the form of technical/research papers/findings, case studies, innovative ideas.

Venue

The city of Jalandhar is well connected by Road and Rail with New Delhi (5 hours) and surrounding locales like Chandigarh (3 hr), Amritsar (1 hr), Shimla (5 hr) and Ludhiana (1 hr).

Jalandhar is a market for agricultural products and manufactures include textiles, leather goods, wood products, sporting goods, hand-tools and surgical instruments.

Jalandhar has an excellent climatic conditions and weather during December expected to be very pleasant. The nearest airports are Amritsar, Chandigarh and Delhi. The nearest tourist destinations are Amritsar Golden Temple (1 hr), Wagah Border (2 hr), Shimla (5 hr), Kullu Manali (6 hr), Chandigarh (3 hr), Vaishnao Devi Shrine (6 hr).

About the Institute

Dr. B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology was established in the year 1987 as Regional Engineering College and was given the status of National Institute of Technology by the Government of India on October 17, 2002 under the aegis of MHRD, New Delhi. Now MHRD, Government of India has declared the Institute as "Institute of National Importance" under the act of Parliament-2007.
